This 8-hour course is ideal for the cyclist looking for a comprehensive introduction into urban cycling. The heart of the League of American Bicyclists' strategy is predictability and awareness. Learn how to anticipate and avoid situations that result in common bicycle crashes. We will teach you how to effectively communicate with other road users through lane positioning, hand signaling and scanning and to prepare for your ride through a quick safety check and route planning. Gear shifting and bike fit will be covered to help you maximize your fitness. Students will graduate from course through written test.
